If You Can't Buy Them Then Join Them (Google Set To Launch Groupon Competitor)
Toward the end of 2010 everybody on this earth heard that Google was looking to buy Groupon for $2.5 Billion then it was $3.0 Billion and eventually $6.0 Billion which to everyones amazement Groupon said thanks but no thanks to the the $6 Billion offer from Google.
So last week we found out that Google Decides To Launch A Competitor to Groupon which is a heavy push into the local space, showing more to the world that their focus is local. Given that Google has a built in Ad Words base of users I think this is great news for Google and bad for Groupon, Living Socials of the world.
